RenewableUK leads British trade delegation to WindEurope’s annual event 2025 in Copenhagen
1 April 2025 - RenewableUK and WindEurope joint press release
RenewableUK will lead a trade delegation of British Government representatives and businesses to the WindEurope 2025 conference and exhibition in Copenhagen to strengthen links with European officials and investors.
The UK Pavilion will host the Department of Business and Trade, Welsh Government and Invest Northern Ireland, with Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan and UK Minister for Climate Kerry McCarthy joining, alongside a delegation of UK - based renewable energy companies to show that Britain is open for business, attract investment and open up UK firms to new markets in mainland Europe.
With Allocation Round 7 this summer and Leasing Round 5 announcements later this year, UK is open for business and has the opportunity to attract record investment in clean power, however with rising global uncertainty and instability due to energy costs, tariffs and the looming threat of trade wars, the conference will be an opportunity for UK firms and officials to build on links, create new trade opportunities and show Britain’s strengths in key growth sectors in the green economy.
RenewableUK’s Deputy Chief Executive Jane Cooper said:
“RenewableUK is proud to be flying the flag for UK businesses in Europe, bringing industry and Government officials together to maximise the opportunities for trade, investment and collaboration with our European counterparts.
“WindEurope 2025 is an opportunity to highlight the UK’s strengths in sectors such as offshore wind and showcase Britain leading the way in the green transition and fighting climate change.”
WindEurope’s CEO Giles Dickenson said:
“It’s great there’ll be such a strong UK presence at WindEurope 2025. The UK leads Europe on offshore wind and is now exploiting its full potential on onshore wind.
“The UK is central to the North Sea becoming the power hub of Europe. And the energy relationship between the UK and EU is key to both sides’ energy and economic security.”
“We look forward to seeing UK Ministers and officials and to hosting their discussions with EU counterparts. And to seeing the UK industry there in force.”
