RenewableUK’s election to WindEurope Board gives UK companies a bigger voice

RenewableUK has been elected to serve on the Board of the European trade association WindEurope for the first time. RenewableUK’s CEO Dan McGrail will serve on the Board for a two-year term starting in September. Our Head of Public Affairs Nathan Bennett will act as his deputy.


WindEurope has over 450 member companies operating in more than 50 countries including wind farm developers, turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, power utilities and financil and research institutions. It coordinates international policy and events to showcase the latest technology.


RenewableUK’s CEO Dan McGrail said:


“This is a first for RenewableUK and it will enable UK companies to have a bigger voice in Europe and on the international stage. I’m delighted to have been supported by so many member companies and other national trade associations. This is a huge vote of confidence in us and I’m looking forward to serving on such a prestigious international Board which will help to ramp up our capacity faster.


“As we share the same challenges as so many of our neighbours, it’s clear we should work more closely together to address them. Energy has never been more important to the day to day lives of people and businesses across Europe. Unprecedented threats to peace and energy security have called politicians to action, prioritising renewable energy deployment. Wind power meets our needs when it comes to cutting bills, securing our energy supplies and tackling climate change, so our market is set for transformational growth”.
