A new joint report from RenewableUK and Hydrogen UK, which outlines a series of strategic measures to lower hydrogen production costs. ‘Splitting the difference - reducing the cost of green hydrogen to accelerate deployment’ sets out 11 key recommendations that will pave the way for a more cost-effective hydrogen industry, including better reflection of risk in strike price indexation for producers, incentivising electrolysis to happen at the time and place when electricity is cheapest, and removing barriers to enable hydrogen producers to co-locate their projects with renewable energy generators that already have planning consent.
